TechGirls Is a U.S. Department of State initiative and exchange program designed to inspire young women from the Middle East and North Africa to pursue higher education and careers in technology through hands-on skills development. It is administered by Legacy International in partnership with Virginia Tech, Center for Enhancement of Engineering Diversity.

Logistics Coordinator

We are looking for an energetic, passionate and organized person with the ability to juggle competing, numerous priorities. The Logistics Coordinator should also be resilient and calm under pressure, highly collaborative, able to develop good working relationships with people both internally and externally at all levels, generous and supportive. This is a temporary position starting May 1 and ending August 31, 2021.

Program Trainers

We are hiring five Program Trainers to take subsets of 20-25 girls through a series of leadership training during the three-week cultural immersion program. They will deliver the training and also assess group dynamic and shift as needed and provide individuals with additional support as the need arises. We are looking for those with youth work experience in a multicultural setting for this dynamic role. This is a temporary position starting June 28 and ending July 31, 2021.

Youth Resident Assistants

We are hiring five Youth Resident Assistants to mentor small-groups of approximately 10 girls from the Middle East and North Africa, Central Asia, and/or the United States, learning together throughout the 3-week intensive program to create a safe, secure, and rich learning in-person or virtual-hybrid environment. This is a temporary position starting June 28 and ending July 31, 2021.

Social Media Coordinator

We are seeking a Social Media Manager to design and manage the quality and presentation of information on social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) and fulfill the TechGirls development and communications goals. They will oversee photo-documentation; collaborate with the team to get valuable content and assist with any press-related matters. This is a temporary position starting June 14 and ending July 31, 2021.

Program Assistant

We are seeking a TechGirls Program Assistant to serve in the capacity of general support assisting girls as they navigate the cross-cultural immersion process.  They will act as resident advisor/counselor for participants, assisting individual girls to meet the demands of the program. This is a temporary position starting June 28 and ending July 31, 2021.
