{"id":2579,"date":"2014-09-22T09:27:55","date_gmt":"2014-09-22T13:27:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/apps.legacyintl.org\/?page_id=5"},"modified":"2026-01-06T11:01:47","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T16:01:47","slug":"program-info","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.legacyintl.org\/pfp\/program-info\/","title":{"rendered":"Program Details"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1>\n\t\tProgram Details\n\t<\/h1>\n<h2>\n\t\t\u00a0Spring 2026 Program\n\t<\/h2>\n<h1>\n\t\tProgram Details\n\t<\/h1>\n\t<p><em>Over the course of 5.5 weeks, MENA fellows from Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia will exeprience an arrival orientation in Washington DC,\u00a0 complete a four-week professional fellowship in Washington D.C., or Detroit Michigan and recovene in the nation&#8217;s capitol at the conclusion of the program.\u00a0 By the close of the program, fellows will have designed and developed a proposal for a community project to be carried out upon return home. The program is sponsored by the <a href=\"http:\/\/exchanges.state.gov\">U.S. Department of State.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\tWHO ARE THE FELLOWS:\u00a0\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Leaders in public service, administration, or government institutions<\/li>\n<li>Professionals supporting community development, education, or youth empowerment initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Innovators using technology to improve public programs and local services<\/li>\n<li>Program managers and staff from community organizations focused on skills development, health, education, or workforce readiness<\/li>\n<li>Researchers contributing to community-based projects or public service innovation<\/li>\n<li>Technology specialists helping organizations expand access to information and services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\n\t\tADDITIONAL PROGRAM COMPONENTS:\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<ul>\n<li><strong>Follow-on Project Development<\/strong>: Each fellow will spend time developing an idea for a follow-on project to be implemented upon returning home. Fellows will participate in a number of training sessions to learn project design skills and write a project proposal during their time in the US.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Outbound Program:<\/strong> US delegates who acted as hosts or mentors during the US immersion segment will be selected to travel to one of the participating countries. Once there, they will co-lead training seminars and gain first-hand knowledge of the country and its people. Fellows will assist in planning the US Delegation&#8217;s visit and hosting them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t8\n<h3>\n\t\tDAYS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING\n\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t4\n<h3>\n\t\tWEEK PROFESSIONAL FELLOWSHIP IN WASHINGTON DC, DETROIT, OR AUSTIN\n\t<\/h3>\n<h2>\n\t\tWHAT DID PREVIOUS FELLOWS SAY?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t<p><strong>&#8220;This program has changed me significantly. On a personal level, I have developed a great degree of self-awareness and control. On a professional level, I gained so much confidence in my capabilities and abilities.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\n\t\t\t<p><strong>&#8220;I became more open to different cultures, understanding to their social challenges and hence more tolerant and accepting. In addition, i also became more self accepting, embraced the fact that i should be proud of the effort more than the results&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\n\t\t\t<p><strong>&#8220;I learned more how to balance personal care and professional goals.
