RESPONSIBLE GOVERNANCE, CIVIC EDUCATION and CITIZEN PARTICIPATION in Central Asia
FOLLOW ON PROJECTS -Brain-storming ideas for follow-on mini-grant projects (December 2007- March 2008), delegates draw on the extensive materials, direct observations, presentations and panel discussions they observed and experienced. Concrete plans include seminars to diverse audiences on the subject of civic education and citizen participation. Audiences include university, secondary teachers, and administrators, women in rural areas, and the local Akimat (government entity) using experiential and interactive methods. University delegates have plans to introduce elective coursework and ultimately, to influence the inclusion of the subject of civic education into the curriculum.
