Application Process:Applicants must have some Arabic language experience. Students with basic Arabic language skills who are ready for intermediate instruction will gain the most from this immersion experience. However, we will allow a small percentage of the group to be beginning speakers who have had little instruction in the language. |

Applicants must have a current valid passport which does not expire before January 2009.
We seek an equal number of boys and girls. Successful applicants will demonstrate the following:
- Leadership potential, strong academic and social skills, maturity, flexibility, and openness to other cultures.
- An interest in Arabic language, and learning about Islam and the cultures of the Arab world.
- A commitment to continued study of the language.
- Commitment to participating in post program and alumni activities
Preference will be given to those who have not previously traveled to Morocco. |

- Interviews: selected applicants will be interviewed, in person or over the phone between March 1st - March 28, 2008.
- Finalists and alternates will be notified by April 18th, 2008.
- Complete required payments by April 28th, 2008. (See cost information section below
Program Costs
Legacy and partner sponsors pay for major expenses:
- Air transportation to and from Washington D.C to Marrakech, Morocco
- All transportation while in Washington D.C. and Morocco
- Tuition, room and board in Washington D.C. and Morocco
- All program activities including group cultural events & educational materials
- Accident and sickness insurance
Applicant’s Responsibility: $ 975
You also cover expenses related to:
- Obtaining passport
- Transportation to and from the Washington D.C.
- Pocket money
* Financial Assistance by Legacy & U.S. Department of State at a value of approximately $12,000 per participant.
Payment Arrangements:
- It costs nothing to apply.
- Upon acceptance, finalists are required to pay $975 by April 28th, 2008.
- Failure to provide payment constitutes a voluntary withdrawal from the program.
- In the event a student withdraws after April 28th, no refunds will be made
