Support Legacy Leaders

razwa-end-of-yearName: Razwa Alharthi

Country: Saudi Arabia

Program: Saudi Young Leaders Exchange Program (SYLEP)

Legacy Leader Profile: Razwa created a project called Save Our Energy to improve energy consumption and reduce waste, by educating the public in Saudi Arabia about energy-saving methods and teaching students to design energy efficient buildings that are tailored to Saudi Arabia’s climate. As a participant in SYLEP 2016, focused entrepreneurship and leadership development, Razwa learned how individuals, NGOs, government entities, and businesses address community needs through innovative public, private, and joint initiatives.

“Saudi Arabia is nine times over the average in energy usage. Air conditioning consumption in Saudi Arabia takes 70% of the electricity and more than 70% of the buildings in Saudi Arabia do not have thermal insulation. I want to improve energy consumption and reduce waste, by educating the public in Saudi Arabia about energy-saving methods and help architectural students design energy efficient buildings.”

What Legacy Are You Leaving? Through the generous donations of partner organizations and individuals we can provide global leaders like Razwa with the tools to create a lasting Legacy in her community.

In the last three years nearly 100 Saudi college students have traveled to the United States to learn and  observe how individuals, non-governmental organizations, government entities, and businesses address community needs through innovative public, private, and joint initiatives. Each student has gone on to develop community engagement and entrepreneurship follow-on projects in their communities across Saudi Arabia.
