"We are happy about
our successes. Results of the project
are far better than we expected. We
thank you at Legacy, because by ourselves
we could not cope with tasks so difficult.
Some of the results were:
- In 2001, Ukrainian families adopted
89 babies from our partner orphanage
as compared to 14 in 2000. That's
an increase of more than 600%!!
- Stereotypes about orphans and
adoption were broken via 600 radio
spots (only 300 originally had been
planned); 20 newspaper articles
(10 planned), and 20 TV spot (3
half hour programs planned).
- In Simferopol. 1000 people from
56 organizations took part in a
one-day march for Child Protection.
This was a landmark event, as it
represented the first march in the
country for a social rather than
political cause.
- We published a manual about our
project and to date have trained
47 people in how to duplicate the
project in other cities." Lubov

"LDI [Leadership Development Institute] was the link where I encountered the workings of the business world and beheld more of the real world. One of the most stunning turns of events was being called a leader. It gives me a stirring feeling. LDI opened my eyes to the reality of the working world. I saw that it takes longer than a half an hour to resolve a problem, and that life just isn't so fine all the time. They also taught me that my voice counted among the multitudes, as long as I had an idea worth considering."
Kim Foo Chow, 8th grade LDI student
