IYLP participant presents her project proposal

22 Indonesian students participated in the Indonesian Youth Leadership Program this summer and returned home with plans and mini-grants for community improvement projects.

In the first phase of this program, participants travel to the US for Legacy’s signature leadership development training and to study and compare democratic practices and citizen participation in  the United States and in Indonesia.

As part of this program each participant chose an issue or need they were particularly concerned about in their community and wrote a project proposal to address this need.  Legacy approved project proposals and awarded mini-grants to participants to return home and transfer their newly acquired skills to implementing projects in their local communities.
